Sex crimes are rampant in our society. Both genders are victims, although the most reported crimes are usually against women. In continuing our discussion on rebuilding family values, we will discuss the effects of family upbringing on the rate of sex crimes. Forcible sex exists in all venues, from the boardroom to the military, leading to drastic measures that cover up the "litt;e indiscretions". Cases such as PFC Lavena Johnson, the young Marine that was brutally raped and murdered, yet her death was ruled a suicide, and cases against NBA star Kobe Bryant and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas that put more stress on the victims than the accused in efforts to preserve the moneymakers. Will focusing on teaching our sons a different view of sex make a dent in the sex crimes rate?
