Carpal Tunnel Surgery and Natural Cures with Kathryn Merrow, The Pain Relief Coach

Today's topics at Carpal Tunnel Radio included surgery for carpal tunnel release.  We talked about how to know whether you should consider surgery, the causes of CTS, questions to ask your surgeon and natural help for CTS.

I also suggested another good place to get a lot of information about CTS all in one place:  http:www.squidoo.com/GTSOCTS  Bruce L. Bair is a Physician's Assistant who put this site together for his patients, but he said you all can use it, too.  Bruce has conventional medical information as well as alternative (natural) info.

Is it more beneficial to treat a symptom?  (Much of conventional medicine treats symptoms.)  Or is it better to get rid of the CAUSE of the symptom?  We talked about why some carpal tunnel surgeries are "unsuccessful."  (Because they didn't address the CAUSE.)

We talked about what happens within about 2 years for about 1/2 of the successful surgeries.  The patients begin to have symptoms again.  Why?  Because the CAUSE wasn't addressed.

The best patient--the one most likely to get well--is the one who is most educated about their pain.  What are the causes?  What are the treatment options?

Remember, the doctor or massage therapist is your service provider.  You pay him or her for their services, so you get to ask questions and have input.

I love doctors and surgeons.  I believe they are terrifically talented.  But, sometimes surgery is not the answer.  Sometimes there are natural options which will help you avoid the pain of surgery and recuperation and possible side-effects.

Our sponsor today was http://www.PainReliefErgonomics.com  so you can work in comfort at your desk or keyboard.

There are reasons why you have CTS.  You can experience carpal tunnel pain relief by getting rid of the CAUSES.
