Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief and Nutrition: How To Be Healthy All Over

Today's topic was Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief and Nutrition:  Whole Body Wellness.

I had a wonderful time interviewing my guest, Harriet Cole.  Harriet has been interested in health and wellness forever and she's been a Shaklee independent distributor for over 20 years.

She's learned a lot about nutrition from experts in the field over those 20-some years and shared some really good information about whole body health with us today.

Harriet gave us a wonderful quote from Dr. Andrew Weil.  If you're not familiar with Dr. Weil, he is an MD with an alternative outlook:  He's not a conventional medical doctor.

"Healing cannot be prevented from occurring."

Wow!  Bodies want to heal; that's their job.  Your job is to support your body and give it what it needs to be strong and well.  Certain foods cause inflammation (swelling) and that swelling can increase your carpal tunnel symptoms.

Vitamin B6 causes Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and there are many (real) foods you can eat to get more B6, and/or you can take vitamin B6 and B-complex supplements.  You can also read labels to avoid eating FD&C Yellow #5, which depletes your B6.

It was a great call and I hope you enjoy it.

Carpal Tunnel Pain Relief - Muscles That Cause Pain In Your Hands & Wrists

Today's guest was Gini Maddocks.  Gini is the author of "R &R Rescue & Relief for Computer Users and those at risk of Repetitive Motion Injury."

Gini shared part of her own story of healing with us and we covered a lot of ground about the muscles that cause carpal tunnel syndrome and other hand/wrist pain issues.

We also talked about the ability of YOUR body to heal itself.  YOU are the healer!  Others help you, but you heal yourself.  Sometimes, all you need is just a little more information, and that's why we are here.

Gini explained how the shortened, tight muscles in the front of your body affect the rest of your body and cause pain symptoms.  The short muscles don't complain, but they do cause problems.

Next week on Thursday, March 26, we will talk about Carpal Tunnel Symptoms and Nutrition: Whole Body Health.  My guest will be Harriet Cole.

Have a great and take good care of yourself.

Does Your Doctor Think Your Carpal Tunnel Syndrome "All In Your Head?"

Does your doctor think your Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is "all in your head?"  He or she might think that if your therapies have failed.  If you have had physical therapy, but still have all of your symptoms, then the cause is in your neck!  You did not "fail," your doctor and physical therapist failed to get to the cause of your symptoms.

There are muscles in your neck that can get "trigger points."  (We talked about trigger points last week.)  When the scalene muscles--those muscles in your neck--get trigger points, they can cause pain in your carpal tunnel area...and in your upper back...and your chest...and the front and back of your upper arm...and your shoulder.  These scalenes muscles are small but powerful!

We talked today about how to find the scalene muscles, what they do and how to treat or massage them.  When these muscles are released, or relaxed, your symptoms will no longer be "all in your head."  They will be gone.

I invite you to come to http://www.CarpalTunnelPainRelief.com and find all of the articles and resources that are there to help you.

Next week, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at noon, our topic will be "Muscles That Cause Hand and Wrist Pain."  Hope you can join us then.
