Caregivers need to take care of themselves before they become ill from the stress.  Adult children, spouses, friends, etc. May perform duties on a full or part time basis.  Bathing, dressing, transportation, cleaning, meal preparation is only part of the duties to be executed.  These duties along with a full time may cause fatigue, anxiety and lots of tears.   Ones body and emotions can only tolerate so much pressure.  Yes, you love your parents dearly and would do anything to keep them safe and comfortable.  However, if you become ill, who will take care of your duties?
