You know I still chuckle a lil bit every time someone reminds me that I am in the media business. I mean every time I say "BLOG TALK RADIO" I seem to ignore exactly what the hell that means! I have been playing both sides of the field for quite sometime being and ARTIST and also being someone that critiques other ARTIST. And that is like being a reporter for CNN and also being an ACTIVE politician, or like when former athletes get jobs at ESPN. You go from one side of the field to the other. Now you become the bad guy because you have to sound off about people you might have to work with or have worked with in the past. It can be kind of weird but all I do is KEEP IT 100, state the facts and give my opinion. But the MEDIA itself as an entity, which includes RADIO, TV, MAGAZINE, INTERNET, and NEWSPAPER is a POWERFUL machine. From the jugernauts in the game like Reuters, CNN, ESPN, TIME, THE SOURCE, XXL, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, and even the damn PAPARAZZI, TABLOIDS and TMZ these entities wield a power that can kill and save careers and lives. Just by using WORDS! Think about that, let that marinate. Freedom of the press is one of the most IMPORTANT parts of our Constitution because without it the RICH and POWERFUL would run amuck and never get caught with their hands in the cookie jar. BUT at the same time the media has way over stepped is bounds and caused harm and invasion into the lives of people. Reports and video have come out about things people did in private that was never meant to be public and people have killed themselves over it. So here goes: Do you think the media is TOO powerful? What form of media to you access the most and why? What are some examples of the media doing good and bad that you loved and hated? Should we revisit "freedom of the press" and tweak it a bit? Do you think tabloids are good or bad? What major media story are you sick of right now? What stories should they be talking about that they arent? These questions and more!
