Communities United Against Police Brutality of Minneapolis is presently engaged in a proactive solution to stop police brutality.  Minneapolis, similar to many municipalities around the country, is self insured for police brutality and misconduct claims.  The bottom line of this arrangement results in taxpayers shouldering the financial bill for the acts of misconduct and brutality of rogue officers.  Additionally, the cost is compounded because taxpayers are forced to continue paying the salaries of these criminal cops.

Still, despite the existence of overwhelming evidence of apparent wide spread police misconduct, police and city officials have shown a serious lack of political will to discipline or fire brutal cops:

CUAPB is proposing a charter amendment that would require officers to purchase their own professional liability insurance policy.  Therefore an officer who committed repeated acts of misconduct would become uninsurable, and forfeit their eligibility to be employed as a police officer.

On Thursday May 9, 2013 at 6:00 PM eastern time, our guest will be Michele Gross, president of Communities United Against Police Brutality.  Please join us for an informative discussion of this important issue.
