"Ellen's Acres" is like "Eloise at the Plaza" set in a motel. Five-year-old Ellen lives
in a hotel that her parents own outside of Tonapah, Nevada. Since there aren't a lot
of kids her age around to play with, Ellen makes up all kinds of imaginary adventures
with the help of her feather duster and radial tire, which turn into different, magical
objects. The show features the first young, hip parents to appear in a childrens animated
series. Ellen's dad is a former professional skateboarder and her mom is a lawyer and his manager. The show is a celebration of play and creativity. Ellen does a great job role
    modeling creativity for kids.

Wednesday Feb 21 11:00 am PST with Constance Kosuda

Constance Kosuda a retired trial lawyer now living in Las Vegas, NV, specialized in Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability for more than 20 years. Working in Newark for more than 17 years, most of her clients were black, poor, and undereducated (as many of them started to work at the age of 6 on the family farm, missing many months from school each year).   In the Courts, she witnessed first-hand the disparate treatment afforded plaintiffs of color, of lower socioeconomic standing, in short, all who did not remind the Judge in question of his or her own family or friends.

She has been  studying the connections between incarceration,  poverty, racism, sexism, elitism (based on who one knows, and how much money one has), education, and  the possibilities of  social reform.

It is now obvious to her  that there is no such thing as "coincidence" and that the incarceration of  poor  people is a deliberate attempt to fund  and keep healthy all of the Department of Corrections in this country, not only in Nevada.

She has witnessed and is documenting the erosion of  civil and legal rights in this country.

She is also appearing before  the Clark County School District, the 5th largest in the country,   speaking out every session in the 3-5 minutes allotted to her, a lowly member of the "public" for social equality and justice, in an attempt to quash the plans for  future generations of incarcerated human beings.
