Dr Rita Louise

Last year I sold my house.  Prior to selling it I hemmed and hawed about putting it on the market.  One decision I had to make was to list it with a friend of mine who was a realtor, whose office was pretty far away, or list it with a local agent.  As I pondered what to do, my phone rang.  It was my realtor friend calling to set up an appointment for a psychic reading.

I joked with him about picking up my psychic vibe and my desire to sell my house.  Looking out for my best interest, referred me to a local agent.  When I hung up the phone I no longer wondered if I was going to sell my house, but knew I was selling it.  It was as if spirit, God or some force outside myself had donned it to be my next step.

I told a few of my friends about my decision.  The first thing each of them said was “well I don’t know...  With the whole mortgage industry crisis going on, do you think it’s a good idea?”  What they said wasn't anything I hadn't heard before.  What fascinated me the most was not what they said, but instead of how I, my body and my psyche experienced their words.

I could see and feel the heavy, fear based negativity associated with their beliefs about the housing market.  It looked like a dark cloud of negative energy that wanted to move from their personal space into mine.  I wasn’t in agreement to taking this energy on.  Deep inside I knew what I wanted and could envision how things would turn out.  All I knew at the time was that I didn’t want their beliefs to rain on my parade.

I could see something else as they spoke to me.  What they were saying wasn’t one of their deeply held beliefs such as all liars go to hell or you have to work hard to get what you want.  In fact, what they were saying wasn’t part of inner truth at all.  Instead it was something that they had heard from a friend or on TV.  They inadvertently owned it as part of their belief system and were trying to pass the belief on to me.

Let’s take a moment and look at this dynamic in another way.  When we get sick it is because we come into contact with a pathogen or harmful bacteria.  So there we are, hanging around with our friends.  Someone coughs and we unintentionally breathe in one of those nasty little teeny tiny microscopic organism into your lungs.  If our immune system is low it can take hold and causes us to get sick.

When it happens, we don’t see or realize we are inhaling the little bugger.  If we did, I’m sure none of us would.  I’m even more confident, our friends would not intentionally want us to get sick.  But because we are unaware of its presence in our environment we accidentally take it in and are affected by it.

That was how the interchange with my friends regarding my house felt to me.  As they talked and shared their negative programming with me I could see the pathogen of their bad energy trying to transfer from their lips into my being.  Without realizing it, I too could have been infected with the belief that it would be hard, if not impossible to sell my house.

As human beings, we are designed to send, receive and assimilate energy and information.  When we believe something about ourselves, others and the world in which we live, we broadcast these beliefs out into the world in much the same way a radio station does.  We also transmit the frequency of our wants, needs and desires.  We put them out there for everyone to see and for the universe, God or whatever you want to call it, to act upon.  While this is not a conversation about the Law Of Attraction, this is a basic premise of how we manifest things into our lives, both good and bad.

So picture this, here I am broadcasting - “I can sell my house AND get the price I am asking”.

But since we are also designed to receive energy from the world around us we are subject to picking up on the energy and information being broadcasted around us.  Like like the free floating bacteria that we might unintentionally breathe in, many times we take on others beliefs without even realizing it.  Once infected, our energy immune system gets turned down.

Instead of vibrating at the energy of “Pick me, pick me, I have a really great house, in fact, the best one in the neighborhood.  You will love it!”, we broadcast their fears, doubts, worry and trepidation as if they are our own.  Where we once knew we were going to sell the house, now we hope and pray that it will sell, maybe, just maybe for what we are asking for – that is, if we are lucky.

Can you see the difference between the two dynamics.  One has power and attracts and the other ultimately comes from a place of weakness?

What we can do about it….

Pay attention to what is going on around you.  Is what you are hearing your truth or are you accepting the truth of those around you.  If it is not your truth, don’t take it on.

If you find yourself if fear or anxiety about something, take a moment and explore if the fear is really yours.  If it is your fear, take steps to clear it from your psyche.  If it isn’t yours acknowledge it and thank it for trying to help and support you but then let it go.

When you are own your own space, you should feel like a light that is shining through the darkness of fear and doubt.  If you aren’t sure where you stand, imaging you can see a dimmer switch in front of you.  Where is your light turned up to?  If your light is low or your dimmer switch is turned down, attach a copper wire to the bottom of it and ground it into the earth.  Use this to discharge any energy that is not your own or in alignment with your highest good.  Then begin to slowly turn up your inner light until it shines brightly.  Allow any negativity to be released down your grounding wire until your light shines for all to see.  It is then that you and only you will be owning your space, thus creating the life you want.
