Overcoming Abuse - Stop Hurting and Start Living

Welcome back to yet another blog from Juice Radio. Join us as we discuss abusive relationships and how to stop the pain and start living. Call in, share your testimony and give us your feedback, Thursday November 13th 7:30PM.

Nearly 2 in 3 female victims of violence were related to or knew their attacker.

Over two-thirds of violent victimizations against women were committed by someone known to them: Approximately 28% of female victims are abused by intimates such as husbands or boyfriends, 35% were acquaintances, and the remaining 5% were other relatives.

Almost 6 times as many women victimized by intimates (18%) as those victimized by strangers (3%) did not report their violent victimization to police because they feared reprisal from the offender.

Unfortunately, these statistics are real, and there are countless women out there who remain silent about abuse. In a society that is dripping with sexism and misogyny, it is no wonder why abuse against women is prevalent. The effects and pain of abuse can last a life time. How can women recognize early signs of abuse? How can women avoid abusive men? How can a woman stop hurting and start living?

What makes a man grow up to be an abuser – knowing that it is wrong? Men who witness abuse as a child, are more likely to be an abuser. A woman, who grows up seeing abuse, is more likely to be abused. It is obvious that abuse deeply effects the self esteem of children and they carry that we them into adulthood.

Join Miz D! and “Real Talk Now” of Juice Radio – we will be joined by Eddie of “Fabulous Black Woman” and Alexyss K Tylor of “Vagina Power”, as we discuss and offer insight on how to overcome the pain of abuse.

Battle of the Sexes! The Ladies and Men Discuss Their Grimes

Hey! It is Juice Radio and we are back at it!! Check us out on Thursday, November 6th 7:30PM. We will be duking it out in this “Battle of the Sexes” as we chat with Panama and Champ of “Very Smart Brothas”. This is gonna be straight bananas!! Men will discuss their grimes with the ladies, and the ladies will discuss their grimes with the men.

No relationship is perfect, there are good times and bad times, but what about those relationships that are just totally one sided? What about those relationships that one partner just takes and takes, and there is no reciprocity? A wise man once said “The one who loves the least in a relationship controls the relationship. This perhaps holds true, because emotions can blind and cloud judgment. A Partner, who is not as emotionally invested, has no qualms about being selfish and inconsiderate.

This is why we have women who cook, clean, maintain a full time job, keep themselves looking good, put up with mess, give support to their husbands and/or partners but still can’t get no love!  Than, we have men who are hard working, sincere, maintaining a good home life, not cheating, but yet at the end of the day get the small piece of chicken!

What is the deal! Why are good men and women missing each other? Or is it that there is no such thing as an equal relationship? Can men and women ever get on the same page and find true happiness and less DRAMA!

Tune in as Miz D! and “Real Talk Now” of Juice Radio chat it up with Champ and Panama of “Very Smart Brothas” on this is hot topic.
