Not meaning to be irreverent; I can’t help but question, was Jesus a virgin?

With this, the question of his marital status comes into view. Was Jesus Married and was Jesus a Virgin? Catholic Church tradition adamantly denies any likelihood that Jesus was married. And Protestant Pastors like Mark Driscoll in a recent interview on The View, use the belief Jesus was an unmarried virgin to encourage celibacy in all stages of life. We can hardly look to Jewish scholarship to resolve the issue. Traditional Jewish scholarship doesn’t recognize the Christ figure in the way Christendom does.

So where should we look to find our answers? Was Jesus a virgin, was he married? How about the extra-biblical, or non-canonical writings? Good idea but they are rife with inaccuracies and “uninspired” ideas. Therefore, we will need to look elsewhere.

Join Jim and Angellah for this most provocative session. Sometimes a little irreverence goes a long way to finding answers about sacred things. We promise not to be too offensive but we may “get yer dander up” on occasion. As we discuss this most intimate of topics, we will find some answers begin to develop. All this question needed was frank discussion of why, according to religious thinkers, He couldn’t have been married. By the end of this broadcast you’ll walk away with the answer to the really important question that asks, what’s wrong with having a Messiah that not only was married but may have “got it on”, so to speak, while He was a human here on earth.
