SPECIAL GUEST: Dr. Earl F. Greer Jr. specializes in Adult Psychotherapy including marriage/family counseling. He received his Masters in Psychology from East Tennessee State University and his Ed. D in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Greer has been a Guidance Counselor, a Director of a drug rehabilitation center, and the Clinical Director for the Bridge Counseling Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Academy of Pain Management, and the Association of Black Psychologists.

  Living with Lupus

  WHAT IS LUPUS?: Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect various parts of the body, including the skin, joints, heart, lungs, blood, kidneys and brain. Normally the body's immune system makes proteins called antibodies, to protect the body against viruses, bacteria, and other foreign materials. These foreign materials are called antigens.In an autoimmune disorder like lupus, the immune system cannot tell the difference between foreign substances and its own cells and tissues. The immune system then makes antibodies directed against itself. Sarah From is Director of Public Policy and Communications at the Women’s Prison Association (WPA), a direct service and advocacy non-profit in New York City. She has represented WPA in the media as a guest on WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show, and in a range of publications including the New York Times, Ms., Salon.com, American Jails, and Child Welfare 360. ***SPECIAL GUEST: National Institute of Corrections, Prisons Division. (www.nicic.org). Maureen Buell is a Correctional Program Specialist with the National Institute of Corrections (NIC). She leads NIC’s Women Offender team initiative focusing on development and support of gender-responsive policy, procedure and practice within criminal justice.   Surviving Sexual Abuse

  Why would someone violate a child? What can you do if someone is hurting a child you know? Surviving sexual assault as an adult. Where can survivors go for support? ***SPECIAL GUEST: Sylvia Coleman, BA, is an award-winning health journalist (www.writeprofessional.com), who conducts the "From Victim to Victor" workshop for African-American sexual abuse survivors at the Temple University PASCEP program. She was awarded the prestigious Leeway Foundation grant to create: www.blacksurvivors.org, a national, online support group and online resource center for black sexual abuse survivors. She is also the author of "Creating a New Normal: Cleaning Up a Dysfunctional Life," a book that chronicles her own healing from sexual abuse. ***Special Guest: Ashley-Michelle Papon is a 24-year-old survivor of acquaintance rape. She took part in the documentary "Swimming Upstream" in 2003 and organizing the first Take Back the Night at Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2006. She also serves as a member of the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network's Speakers Bureau and contributed to their recent book release, "Yes, You Do Know One of Us," available for purchase on the Barnes&Noble Website. She also serves as co-moderator for After Silence, a message board dedicated to facilitating a healing environment for survivors of sexual violence.** SPECIAL GUEST: Edd Conboy, MS, MFT, Edd is a seasoned therapist, coach and consultant, with more than twenty years expereince.
