In many ways, Tim Reid has done the impossible. In only a few short years, the Chief Operating Officer of MacDonald Island Park has taken the ailing facility—a project so far over-budget and behind schedule, to one of the most envied recreation facilities in the country.
Macdonald Island Park sits among some of the most beautiful scenery the city has to offer, an imposing collection of buildings that boast an Olympic-sized swimming pool, waterslides, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, various ice surfaces, a beautiful golf course, and numerous other features.
Reid’s passion has always been recreation, but he says that, as his family has grown with the arrival of his young son Liam, he has new perspective on just how important recreation is to the heart of a community.
Macdonald Island Park is the home of many fundraising initiates, and most recently held the Parsons Creek Fire Benefit concert with all proceeds supporting those residents.
