Heavy breathing or deep growls are heard from the other side of the door. We all wonder why the character in a movie or book will open the door, knowing they are about to be attacked by the vicious monster waiting for them on the other side.  We brace ourselves, waiting for the inevitable blood-bath we know will come.  Then when the poor victim screams, experiencing their horrible death, we hide our faces, not wanting to see for fear the image will forever haunt our dreams.

What makes us subject ourselves to such a fright? What makes us watch a movie, or read a book we know will make our nerves stand on end?  Those characters we will never forget, such as Freddie Krueger and Michael Myers, who made us cringe as they slaughtered their helpless victims.  Horror books and movies are an addiction for some, but everyone will delve into those stories from time to time for a brief escape into the dangerous world of HORROR.

Lisa and Linda will spend an hour chatting with Horror Author Brian Moreland, as we discover what type of person it takes to create those stories that make you turn on all the lights and lock the doors.  Brian writes novels and short stories of horror and supernatural suspense. His books include Dead of Winter, Shadows in the Mist, The Girl from the Blood Coven, The Witching House, The Devil’s Woods, The Vagrants, and Darkness Rising. Brian lives in Dallas, Texas where he is diligently writing his next horror book.
