I love my job.
Writing for a living is a blast, but sometimes it gets even more fun. I just hung up from doing a lengthy phone interview with one of the great horror film directors of all time: John Carpenter.
The interview is for THEY BITE! Supernatural Predators in Folklore, Fiction and Film, a nonfiction book I'm writing (with fellow Bram Stoker Winner David F. Kramer), and which is scheduled for release from Citadel Press in 2009.
John Carpenter is one heckuva nice guy. Articulate, insightful, and a straight-shooter who gives a great interview. Once I transcribe it I'll post a teaser here in a future installment of the Big Scary Blog.
My favorite Carpenter films: Big Trouble in Little China and The Thing.
