My people we must continue to stand as one. For as you all know it is together that we are most powerful. It was together that our people fought, went to jail, and even died for our sake. So it is now more than ever that we must stand taller than ever, and keep the fight that they started alive in 2008 !!!!!!!!!!!

The results of not "Overcoming Adversity"

    Impulsive Reaction

I have warned several family members and friends to, “Do not go out hastily to strive, lest you know not what to do in the end thereof.” Most arguments are started impulsively; few are carefully thought out beforehand. My heart goes out to Roderick Anthony Burton II family, friends and fans due to some kind of argument or conflict that started on impulse and the outcome is a lost for all of us. Impulse has a much greater likelihood of hurting all of us in the end, rather than helping us achieve our dreams. Here is Jonathan Keese prescription, “Don’t do it. Stop and think about alternative course of action.

    Dealing with Adversity Part II

Jonathan Keese continues his discussing on the subject of Dealing with Adversity in Part II of his conversation.

Lesson 3: Closely examine the adversity you encounter to learn from it. My neighbor's daughter was vacation in Thailand on December 26, 2004 with the tsunami hit. Although he will never know the purpose of that event, he did gain an infinitely grater realization of the temporary nature of like. As a result, he made the decision to make the absolute most of every remaining day of his life. Because of the love and kindness he was show by Thai villagers who had also lost family members, he is more actively helping the helpless himself. When Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast, He instantly and effectively campaigned for help from our community.

Lesson 4: Seek insights from other people. A lot of times, adversity blindsides us. So what do you do? This is exactly the kind of situation in which Solomon would advise us to seek outside counsel. Go to others and gather their insights. What went wrong? Why didn't I see it coming? Was I blind? Was I callous? Was I naive? Others can sometimes see what we cannot because of our closeness to the situation.

    Dealing with Adversity

Jonathan Keese, gives us a number of insights that we can used when we find ourselves in adverse circumstances, regardless of their source or its degree of difficulty:

Lesson One: Realize that adversity is a valuable part of life. Adversity provides us with the opportunity to develop our character in natural, recurring, and powerful way that only the challenges of adversity offer. Only adversity refines and reveals the gold and silver of our character. Nobody likes going through adversity at the time we are going through it. Without going through it, our character "muscles" would never reach their full potential strength and power.

Lesson Two: Accept responsibility for your contribution to the situation. A lot of times adversity comes our way as a direct or indirect result of our own actions. We make a bad choice or a bad decision, or we simply fail to do something we should have done. When I made bad investment decisions, I had to accept responsibility from my greed and my naive choices. Yes, several men had misrepresented the opportunities to me, but the fact is, I am the one who made the decisions. And I experienced the very consequences that Sol had cautioned me about. Anytime you make a contribution to your own adversity, you need to accept responsibility for it. Don't simply blame someone or something else.

Nonetheless, throughout our lives here on earth we will experience a great deal of adversity that is not a result of our actions. In those cases, it is critically important that we do not assign fault to ourselves or those who had nothing to do with it. Always remember that adversity sometimes has a purpose that we cannot know or understand. As tempting as it may be, to try to figure out such a mystery is not only an exercise in futility, it is foolish.

Enjoy your week and check back tomorrow for Lessons three and four from JONATHAN KEESE!

    Jonathan Keese talks about "Criticism"

At a recent PBS television appearance, I asked the studio audience, "How many of you like being criticized?"  Not  one hand was raised. I then asked, "How many of you hate being criticized?" This time, nearly every person in the studio raised there hand. Finally I asked, "How many of you can remember a criticism you received in your childhood from a parent, a teacher, a friend, or someone else that really hurt you?" Almost instantly, nearly every person raised a hand again. Even audience members in their late seventies could recall hurtful criticisms from their youth. That's how terribly painful criticism can be. Most people today hate criticism and treat it as a dreaded enemy. They do everything they can to avoid it, and when it comes, they defend against it, rationalize it, run away from it, or attack the critic.

Like everyone else, I , too, used to hate criticism. And yet it seemed that my life was full of it. It came from anyone and everyone: my old friends, my old partners, even my parents. I tried to deal with it in all of the normal ways:ignore it, run away from it, deny it, defend, argue, make excuses, and more often than not, shift the blame toward someone else or attack the critic. How about you? How have you dealt with criticism?

Jonathan Keese (There Are No Secrets Regarding Bussiness Success)

    There Are No Secrets

Speaker, Trainer, and Authors love to tell you that there are secrets to being more successful, selling more or being rich, they will convince you that only they possess those secrets. If you will give them your money, they will share those secrets with you. What a rip-off. Those people should be ashamed. (Not ashamed for trying to see you their ideas, because we all have the right to do that. I am selling you my ideas right now, so I have no problem with selling ideas.) They should be ashamed for saying there are secrets to being more successful. There are secrets to be more successful. There are no secrets. There is no new information.

Here are some of the main keys to be more successful:

    Take personal responsibility

    Things change, so be flexible

    Work smart and work hard

    Serve other well

    Be nice to others

    Be optimistic

Have goals; want something big for yourself

    Stay focused

    Keep learning

    Become excellent at application

Trust your gut feelings (be honest with yourself)

When in doubt, take action don’t stand still

    Earn all you can

    Save all you can

    Give all you can

    Enjoy all God gives you

Above All: Pray and keep it simple!

This one simple equation works in every area of business

    ● Business gets better right after the people in the business gets better

    ● Sales get better right after sale people get better.

    ● Customer service gets better right after the people who deliver the customer service gets better.

    ● Employees get better right after their manager gets better

    ● Everything in your life gets better when you get better and noting is ever going to get better until you get better

See how simple that it is?

    THE REGRETS OF A CHAMPION

I once heard Irving Berlin say, "the toughest thing about success is that you've got to keep on being a success". Let me put it straight, a champion also exhibits some fear, it is just that he has control over his fear. Ernest Hemingway says, "courage is grace under pressure", and Woody Allen says, "its not that I'm afraid to die, I just don't want to be there when it happens". A champion truly has his weakness but he never lets his weakness have him. I will discuss more in detail four out of the many regrets of a champion later this week have a blessed Sunday.
