  Powwow highway and open lines

  This is my second show. I am learning how to do open lines and this is more for an educational experience for me as a host. I am a talk radio host in training so please bear with me. We are going to discuss powwows, what they are about, who goes to them and my experiences with powwows. I want to discuss the many issues about the powwow and how it can be a force for good or bad in Indian country and far beyond. I am giving a notice out that this show falls under educational because I am a talk show host in training and I am wanting to teach about powwows and what they are about.

  At last a talk radio host

  Well here I am. I am no longer just a listener. I am a talk radio host here at blog talk radio. I am far from ready from launching my show but I had to look up information on how to do it. The move is very challenging and I will take time to get the show off the ground. I am ready to go do something new. This is an experiment. I do not know how it will go but I am ready to roll. First of all I must promote and that is what I will do first before I start the show. I am no professional talk radio show host yet but I promise to put the best content that I can and I will get better as I go along.

  Promoting talk radio

  I am a firm believer in networking. A show cannot be any better if you do not have a diverse listening group. Remember most people do not call into talk radio shows so the key here is to have a diverse large group to pool from.
  You also need to know how to work the calls very well. The key is to keep your callers and to have them come back bringing friends and even more stories to tell. The only way to do this is experience.
  A talk radio blog is the best way to do this.You can start small by discussing the issues that most interest you. Be well prepared because your callers may throw some very interesting and thought provoking questions your way and be ready for a very fun ride.
  The key to professionalism is practice. You may stumble plenty of times but as long as you are learning to work the phones and bring people information that they want your talk show will grow until you achieve your highest goals in mind.
  Remember the caller is the reason you are doing a talk show. Be polite, firm and well educated and your callers will respect you and wall you back often.
  To start with I suggest you only have an hour long talk show. Ask questions to other hosts and be know the topic you want to discuss like the back of your hand.
  Promote your show and don't forget to remind everyone of upcoming shows if you have any coming up in the near future.
