State of Flux, a leading procurement and supply chain consultancy, has been included on Gartner’s list of Cool Vendors in Finance and Procurement 2012.

As I read the above headline a number of thoughts immediately came to mind.

To start I was interested in learning more about the vendor whose name signifies its transitional impact on the way that organizations manage their critical supplier relationships.

Perhaps this is one of the sole remaining benefits of a Gartner endorsement in that it at least creates a degree of presence for vendors that they might otherwise not have known.

On the other side, and as highlighted in my January 7th, 2011 post "Madison Avenue ooops . . . make that Gartner, names Oracle as a leader in supply chain planning," an endorsement by Gartner may do more harm than good . . . at least this is what the majority of readers think.

Regardless, State of Flux is a company that is worthy of a deeper look, and that is just what we are going to providing today as I welcome to the show the company's Chairman Alan Day.
