Feelings of anxiety, worry and panic are all in the future. In reality nobody has tomorrow. But what we do have is right now.

Anxiety: a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome

Nothing is certain accept death, taxes and laundry. It feels unsafe to be in the unknowingness of the outcome of a situation. It’s really easy to obsess in the different outcomes and most of the time we focus on the negative rather than the positive. You can literally take years off of your life obsessing about the future outcome of something.

In truth it’s all the future and no one has control over the future, all we have control of is right NOW, our thoughts and our actions. Anxiety solves nothing, but you do have control over it.

Tips to Taking charge of Your Anxiety:

1. Awareness of your anxiety.

2. Write down what you are anxious about.

3. Remind yourself you are in control and you are safe no matter what the outcome is.

4. Breathe. Let go of all those destructive thoughts that want to enter your mind and let those thoughts know that they are not the truth.

5. Take action to getting yourself into the present moment. Pray, meditate, write, exercise or talk to a friend.

All we have is NOW. If you have one foot in tomorrow and one foot in yesterday, guess what you are doing to today?

I highly recommend Elkhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now”. This book is a great life centering piece of literature that will help you gain perspective on the power of the present moment.

My friends and colleagues have named me “The Myth Slayer and the Truth Sayer”. I encourage you to go on the journey from misery to destiny of slaying your myths that keep you from getting the most out of your life and getting to the real truth of the matter.  Remember “It’s Never Too Late to Reclaim Your Life”.

Remember YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR ANXIETY!
