Megan Walker has been the Executive Director of the London Abused Women’s Centre since 1997. Megan has initiated a number of firsts in Ontario including the Silent Witness Project and Shine the Light on Woman Abuse campaign. She believes the involvement of victims and their families in social action is an important element to healing and worked with victims’ families and friends to produce the documentary In Our Hearts, produced in partnership with a local London Ontario high school.

Megan has spoken at a number of institutions, government, national and international conferences including the University of Western Ontario, King’s University College, the CEP National Women’s Conference in Ottawa, OPSEU National Women’s Conference, the home of former Governor General Michaëlle Jean and most recently at an international conference in Guyana, South America. Her keynote addresses relate to Woman Abuse in Society, Silent Witness Project, Shine the Light on Woman Abuse, Advocacy for Action.

Megan’s commitment is to the long term goal of ending violence and abuse against women.  Let's bridge the gap....as Western Women!!
