Achieving daily successes is the most motivational thing you can do, for you. Find ways to motivate yourself. The bars are behind you! It's up to you to keep the bars behind you. You decided life looking through bars is not an option? Make it happen. No one can do this for you but you. Make good use of your hands and get hired in 30 days or less.

Assess your skills. Learn computer skills. Gain career knowledge. Know what job you want. Find companies that hire for those jobs. Research companies you will visit. Write a resume for each job you want. Complete a master application. Visit companies and ask to fill out a job application. When asked what you want to apply for be prepared to immediately recite skills you have in mind to do on a job. Like, inventory, stocking, driving, etc. Seek jobs online. Keep your resume on a disk and be ready to cut and paste onto online applications. Attend workshops and take notes for future reference. Review your notes often.  

Seek out local grants available to help ex-offenders employment transition.  Prepare a daily job search agenda. Make a list of companies that hire ex-offenders. Learn proper job search procedures here at job search workshop. Present yourself with impact on job applications, at interviews, thank you notes, follow-up phone calls.
