Let's look at 2 Kings 6:24-33 and 7:3-4

We see here that the city of Samaria was experiencing a famine, and on top of that the king of Syria besieged them.  The people are looking to the king for help, and he says "if the LORD don't help you, where can I find help for you?" Bad stuff is going on there.

We come to the four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, "Why are we sitting here until we die? They had to make a discussion, if they stayed where they were they might die, if they went in and surrendered they might have died.  They had a legitimate question that needed an answer.  They knew they couldn't get help from the king. I believe that your deliverance is in your going.  Deut 3:22 "You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you. Can you receive it?
