The Maccabeats started about 4 years ago by current member Michael Greenberg. The group is made up of YU students and alum. Last year the group released their first album titled "Voices from the Hights" which includes songs from all over the spectrum, from Israeli to English. In addition to performing on campus, the Maccabeats specialize in singing on shabbat and for simchas. The Maccabeats have been all over the world to perform, from California, Florida, and Georgia, to Israel and Canada, with South Africa and Europe in the future. The group is led by director Julian Horowitz and associate director Immanuel Shalev.
