I think that if someone professes to have been in the ministry or is a Christian or has a true belief system - that they have no business causing hearsay themselves (passing on rumors - a rumor being anything that has not been proven face to face or seen someone in the act) and perpetrating the hearsay over and over again by telling others - that person should just say a prayer and allow it to stop with them.

Henry is not gay - that is a rumor that was started long ago..... Also, if you continue to tell that rumor what does that make you?
