In our effort to bring more diversity to “The Way I See It,” the show’s format will now include “ Music Week,” which will be presented on the first Sunday of every month. On those shows, Jay will highlight the careers of noted recording artists who were instrumental in paving the way for many of today’s newer artists. He will also introduce you to new talent on the verge of becoming household names in today’s music.
This Sunday, on “The Way I See It,” we are honored to interview and explore the music of Smooth Jazz guitarist, Dee Brown; Jay King’s fellow members, Valerie Watson and Samuelle Prater of the legendary group, Club Nouveau; and Larry Dunn, one of the original members and gifted songwriters of the renowned super group, Earth, Wind & Fire. Joining Larry will be his wife, Luisa Dunn, who is a talented and versatile vocalist in her own right.
As Jay, Robert Redwine and I talk with our guests, you will hear some music which, undoubtedly, will conjure up memories of the past. You will also have the opportunity to hear new music, from these artists, that will be heard for the first time, exclusively, on “The Way I See It.”
If you would like to say hello or tell our guests what their music has meant to you, please feel free to call us at 347-205-9366, or join our chat room, where you can post your thoughts along with “The Way I See It” family. If you elect to use our chat room, please be sure to register at BlogTalkRadio.com with a user name and password.

When voters rallied to elect Senator Barack Obama as its first African American president, many of those voters were white Americans, who previously vowed they would never put a black man in the White House. But after years with this country collapsing in financial ruin and imploding from within, people became desperate for change. For the first time in their lives, they were willing to look beyond the color of one’s skin, if it meant they might, once again, have hope in achieving whatever they believed to be the American Dream. It was an enormous step for a nation with a despicable and ugly past regarding slavery, lynching and segregation.
Yet now, nearly a year later, all one needs to do is listen to the hate-filled tirades of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, among a list of many others, or read the idiotic ramblings of Townhall.com columnist Burt Prelutsky, who brazenly thinks it's okay to refer to First Lady Michelle Obama as a “black bitch.” And, if you really want to get an honest assessment of what some of the regular Joe Blows of America think about race, the Internet will open your eyes to an endless arsenal of insults being hurled from one community poster to another. It is America showing its colors with no sense of indecency or shame.
Join Jay King, Robert Redwine and me, (Joan-Adrienne), as we explore the reasons as to why America remains irrevocably divided when it comes to the never-ending issues on race and inequality. The more things change, the more they remain the same, when it comes to violence in America. From the east coast to the west and from the northern plains to the southern belt, this country’s eye-popping landscapes, and picturesque seashores belie the staggering truth about what firmly grips the communities that are nestled within. In the crooks and crannies of every major and mid-size city, and the pockets of small-town and rural America, over the last twenty years, predators with a predilection for violent crimes have left in their wake a swath of startling statistics to which no other civilized country in the world can lay claim.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, from the beginning of 1987 to the end of 2006, there were 32,068,368 “known” violent crimes that included 388,281murders, 1,921,021 forcible rapes, 19,429,649 aggravated assaults and 10,321,417 robberies. Every day, as we become riveted by some of the most sordid news account that have a tendency to stop us dead in our tracks, minutes later, we’re right back to our regular routines. Oftentimes, as early as a day later, we can’t even remember the details of the previous day’s tragic news because something else depraved and despicable usually comes along begging for our attention.
This Sunday, on “The Way I See It,” host Jay King will join us from Japan. Jay, Robert Redwine, Michael Harris and I (Joan-Adrienne) want to know, “Why is America So Violent?” If you would like to share your point of view, please call us at 347-205-9366 or join our chat room. To gain access to “The Way I See It” chat room, you must sign up at www.blogtalkradio.com with a user name and password, before logging onto the show.

The Internet has become as much as an integral part of our daily lives as eating, sleeping, and going to work. By the mere touch of a few keystrokes, as we navigate this powerhouse of information, we are learning and seeing some things, involving children, that sometimes leaves us stunned and outraged. As more Internet users display their sub-standard, homemade videos, we find ourselves being overwhelmed by scenes of parents encouraging their children to act inappropriately. Scenes of little girls lewdly grinding their doll-sized hips against the pelvic areas of little boys in cadence with ear-splitting rhythmic beats and crude language is the kind of behavior that leaves many of us wondering, what in the hell are their parents thinking? And when we see children, barely old enough to string a full sentence together, being encouraged to stand in front of a moving photo lens and curse like a drunken sailor as their parents stand by in total hysterics, it’s enough to make us cringe. Any parent, who endorses that and any other forms of offensive behavior is out of control and should be fined and, even, locked up for having such a low regard and disrespect for their children.
WARNING: the following video contains offensive language, but further substantiates why the global community is “screaming bloody murder,” about out-of-control parents.
