According to Wikipedia’s definition, a pimp ‘finds and manages women and young girls who are vulnerable and susceptible to extreme manipulation, and engages them in prostitution in order to profit from their earnings.’
For years, Hollywood writers, both black and white, have certainly done their share of defining, depicting and exploiting their concepts of pimps, players and hustlers. In the course of telling their stories, more often than not, their stereotypical portrayals have been of slick-talking black men with conked or Afro-styled hair, gleaming gold teeth, dressed to the bone in colorful, gaudy clown suits with matching gangster “lids, and blinding, over-sized jewelry.” They could usually be found parked curbside in their even gaudier flaming metallic pimpmobiles with their cartoonish, white-wall tires, plate-sized headlights,... with a diamond in the back, sunroof top, digging on the scene with a gangster lean! By now, if any of you are singing along to William DeVaughn's old gangster anthem, “Be Thankful for What You Got,” then surely you must know where this topic is going.
This Sunday, on “The Way I See It,” at www.blogtalkradio.com/Jay-King, you’re going to hear “The Real Truth about the Game,” when Jay King and Robert Redwine have a “no-holds barred” discussion with their guests, Gangster Brown, Money Banks and Ron Newt; who know the game of pimps, players and hustlers, as well as anyone, because they have lived it. Let us hear from you by calling: 347-205-9366. If you would like to participate in our always-lively chat room, you must register at blogtalkradio.com before signing onto “The Way I See It.”

At some time in your life, it is possible that you have had an argument or difference of opinion with a friend or relative. As your dispute might have escalated into hateful thoughts and a heated war of words, perhaps, fueled by alcohol, jealousy or just downright mean-spiritedness, you might have found yourself inflicting some cruel and insensitive words; not realizing the depth to which the person on the receiving end was being stung. After all was said and done, you might have walked away, believing that a little bit of time would heal any bruised feelings, only to realize very much later that, now and then, there just isn’t enough time in the world to heal unaddressed resentments that have festered far too long. Sadly enough, after weeks, months or years, you might even still be scratching your head trying to remember what sparked your disagreement, in the first place.
Join Jay King and his co-host Robert Redwine on “The Way I See It” at www.blogtalkradio.com/Jay-King, this Sunday, as they dissect, discuss and suggest ways of moving toward peaceful and positive resolutions. Let us hear from you by calling: 347-205-9366. If you would like to participate in our lively chat room, please note that you must register at blogtalkradio.com before signing onto “The Way I See It.”
