A frank discussion between host Jay King, co-host Robert Redwine and their listeners about love and relationships
Date / Time: 6/7/2009 2:31 AM UTC
Over one-third of single women between the ages of 40 and 69 are now looking for and finding happiness in dating younger men. Many of these mature women have established careers, are in excellent health and look as good, if not better, as some of their younger competition. They are of the new mindset that, if society can be accepting of older men who pursue women young enough to be their daughters, then they, too, should have the right to squire about town on the arm of a fine, young companion, even if he is 10 years or more their junior.
Yet, in the court of opinion, society and the media have a meddling knack for scrutinizing and categorizing others’ personal lives. Older women who elect to date younger men, are looked upon as “cradle-robbers” and “cougars on the prowl,” who should be at home soaking their dentures, strapping on a depends, making sure their wills are in order and, most importantly, acting their age.
It is a double standard that Jay King and Robert Redwine will examine on “The Way I See It,” this Sunday, on www.blogtalkradio.com/Jay-King. If you would like to be a part of their discussion, please call our live switchboard at 347-205-9366 and share your point-of-view.
