Organizing Your Tax Related Paperwork-Individuals
1) Separate receipts by tax year.
2) Organize receipts into categories.
3) By law we are required to keep completed taxes and supporting documents for 3 years.
4) Compare your last two pay stubs with your W-2.
5) Organize receipts in envelopes or plastic bags clearly labeled.
Organizing Your Tax Related Paperwork-Businesses
1) Separate Each Businesses Receipts.
2) Always Separate Business and Personal Receipts.
3) Organize receipts by category (office supplies, meals).
4) Organize completed taxes with supporting document by year.
5) Copy receipts that may fad over time.
