Today on the opening of Season 2 on "The Ja*Mic Show" we are talking with poet Middle Soul out of Chicago who has published his first book and I have the oppurtunity to have him on my show.He is going to spit a few pieces as well as we get into his side of the publishing industry PhotobucketDANIEL J. DAVIS (D.J. DAVIS) WAS BORN IN CHICAGO, IL., BUT HE WAS RAISE IN THE SOUTH SUBURBS OF LYNWOOD. HE ATTENDED NATHAN HALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, BUT IT WASN'T UNTIL HE ATTENDED HERITAGE MIDDLE SCHOOL WHERE HE FOUND HIS LOVE FOR POETRY. AT FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH POETRY HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND OR LIKE POETRY SHAKESPEARE, FROST, DICKENS ETC. HIS FIRST LOVE WROTE HIM A POEM AND OF COURSE HE WROTE ONE BACK. SHE HAD TAKEN A STRONG LIKING TO HIS WORK AND SHOWED HER FRIENDS. IT WAS THEN THAT HE REALIZED THAT HE MAY HAVE A TALENT IN THE ONE AREA THAT HE DISLIKED THE MOST POETRY. HE BEGAN TO USE POETRY AS AN OUTLET OF EXPRESSING HIMSELF TO NOT ONLY WOMEN, BUT AS A TOOL TO COLLECT HIS THOUGHTS ABOUT EVERYDAY.He has performed at various open-mic spots in Chicago and works constantly in his community
