As we are nearing the end of 2010, I for one am grateful for the opportunities and possibilities of 2011. I am reminded by a poem by Langston Hughes, “Life for me ain't been no crystal stair. It's had tacks in it, and splinters, and boards torn up, and places with no carpet on the floor…” I am sure many can relate. In places where I was once confident, like business, love and life, I am more timid and cautious. In searching for ways to deal with the scars and hidden patterns that were left as a result, I have always found solace in Iyanla Vanzant’s work. This Wednesday, Iyanla Vanzant returns to share her discovers and journey at looking at family patterns and pathologies as reflected in her new book, Peace from Broken Pieces. Though Iyanla’s life has been an open book, in this revealing self-portrait, Iyanla shares intimately about her past and the distinctions she discovered along the way that has brought true peace and will help you get through what you are going through.
