After a raucous Week 5 in the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings are 4-1 and still on top of the NFC North -- tied, it just so happens, with the rejuvenated Chicago Bears. Is it time to admit that the Vikings are for real, or are they a mirage that will be exposed later in the season? We will be joined by Water Cooler Sports columnist Paul Childers to discuss just that.
The Houston Texans were looking like the best team in the league until last night, when they had a less than stellar outing against the New York Jets. They did pull out the win, but it may have been a Pyrrhic victory, as they lost linebacker Brian Cushing for the season. What does this mean for the fat of the Texans against the NFC North?
Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky today was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison, for all practical purposes a life sentence. The judge resisted the temptation to grandstand at the trial and give Sandusky the full 442 years he faced. Was this a demonstration of laudable restraint on the part of the judge, or did he miss the opportunity to make a statement?
As the recently released Black and Blue Offensive Ranking System shows, the Packers have actually been one of the better offenses in the division. Yet they stand in third place at 2-3. What can the Packers do to get back on track, or are they doomed to inconsistency the rest of the season?
There are plenty more topics we'll cover in two hours, so be sure to tune in to It's Your Dime radio, exclusively on the Water Cooler Sports Network.
