Earlier this year, the Seattle Seahawks laid down a fairly substantial chunk of change to bring in former Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn. It was expected that Flynn would compete with former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tavaris Jackson for the starting job. But Jackson has since been picked up by the Buffalo Bills, while Flynn has been supplanted by rookie quarterback Russell Wilson out of Wisconsin. Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has come out and stated publicly that his lucrative contract is essentially a one-year deal.
