It seems that lawyers know how to create problems in the process of obtaining trademarks or patents to make more money. I had this experience - I obtained a trademark in Canada doing it myself very quickly, however, when I hired an attorney to do some in the States, he seemed to deliberately screw things up so he could make more money. I wound up having to abandon my trademarks and lost a lot of money. The U.S.P.T.O. is more complex than the Canadian system, almost requiring you to have a lawyer. Can a person SUCCESSFULLY trademark on their own in the States? I have a complete distrust of lawyers due to this and similar experiences with them. I would like to find one that is HONEST and efficient, but living in Canada makes it tricky to find such a one across the border, not being able to get referrals or meet in person. Perhaps you are such a person, or could comment on this situation....
