Following the shooting at Reynolds High School in Oregon this past week, many media outlets, including CNN, reported that there have been 74 school shootings in the past 18 months.

That's the time period since the December 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where 20 children and six adults were shot to death.

Does media attention, some say sensationalizing, school violence contribute to the cause of such incidents?

Do gun laws have an effect on the violence in schools?

What part do parents play in the picture of violence at schools?

Obviously, there is always enough blame to pass around.

Jump "In the Pickle Barrel" this morning 7-8:30AM EST as we discuss these issues.
