A kindred soul who spreads music to the masses in many different forms, Robert L. Symons was invited to perform as a guest Steel Pan Soloist at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2003, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland along with The Bermuda Regiment Band and The Bermuda Gombey Dancers. This event included many acts from around the world and was televised by BBC TV to an audience of 1.7 million world wide in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
From his youth as a guitarist to the start of his music career as a bass guitarist and to his current role as an international steel pan soloist and recording artist, he is one of those amazing individuals that deserves to be celebrated for his life path and his artistry. He is a self-taught musician, which makes his growth and transitions throughout his life that much more implausible.
Robert has toured The United States, Canada, South America, The Caribbean, Mexico, The South Pacific, Hawaii, Scotland and Europe. He has worked with, and for, the rich and famous both in Bermuda and Internationally and as a professional musician is both well respected and sought after.
Beginning his career as a professional musician (meaning he got paid and paid dues) in 1976, Robert played as a bass guitarist/vocalist with "The New Happening Bda." a 6 piece cabaret band performing on the Bermuda Hotel Circuit.
