David Diamond was a founding member of Vancouver’s Headlines Theatre (1981) and has been Artistic Director since 1984. In 2013 the theatre company took on a “new” name: Theatre for Living. David has directed over 500 community-specific projects on issues such as racism, civic engagement, violence, addiction, many youth-based projects, intergenerational conflict and homelessness. He has worked throughout Canada, the USA and Europe, as well as in Namibia, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Rwanda, Palestine and Singapore, and has pioneered the development of live, interactive Forum television and web casting.

David J. Diamond is head of Career Coaching for Artists located in New York City. He is co-organizer of the La MaMa Umbria International Program of workshops, residencies and performances, Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, Yale School of Drama and Pace University and a theatre director. He is on the Steering Committee of Theatre Without Borders and teaches workshops in Peacebuilding Through the Arts. He is on the roster of Fulbright Specialists in Theatre and a Founder/Board Member of The Barrow Group Theatre Company.
