ppdingles question of the week was this...

Do you think Randy Orton will walk out of Backlash still WWE Champion?

My answer is yes I do. He has overcame the biggest odds that were against him at Wrestlemania 24 and I think he can do it once again. Of course you will have to tune in this coming Monday night to see if I am right.

The official Parent of the year award is underway and here are the two first nominees...

Cutting-Edge Parenting: Sheriff's deputies in the Orlando area were on the lookout in March for two women who, according to surveillance video from the Magical Car Wash, had pulled into a stall and deposited coins but then proceeded only to scold and then pressure-wash a small child.

Aron Pritchard, 27, was convicted of child endangerment in March in Hutchinson, Kan., after a jury declined to accept his explanation for his girlfriend's kids, age 2 and 3, being burned in a hot clothes dryer. Pritchard said he was just trying to show them they could have fun without necessarily spending money.

Throughout 2008 I will be keeping track of idiots like these and select a winner later this year. This should be fun.

Episode # 18 started just as I thought it would...with a computer failure. Just as the clock hit 7pm to begin the show at it's new time slot of 7pm on Monday's, the computer quit working and even though the show still went live, I couldn't take on any callers or even open the chat room.

The big story was of course TNA LOCKDOWN and Somoa Joe's victory over Kurt Angle to finally win the TNA World Championship. Other TNA LOCKDOWN results were discussed as well.

WWE Backlash was discussed and I am in the process of posting my predictions for that PPV. Look for that post later this week into next week.

My question of the week was:

Will the Big Show vs Great Khali match at Backlash be good or will it be a flop?

I concluded that it will be a good match, not a great match. If Big Show can carry most of the match then it will be worth watching.

Episode 17 started off with a bombshell as the announcement was made that "Inside the Squared Circle" would be moving to a new Prime time spot of 7pm every Monday night. Now you can get your wrestling fix of news, rumors and tidbits right before you settle in and watch WWE RAW.

Last weeks Wrestlemania 24 show was a huge success with almost 400 archives through the week and a record 23 LIVE listeners. This week the trend continued and I discussed the Randy Orton and JBL program and why a heel vs heel feud would work right now. Plus my thoughts on finally seeing the Big Show and The Great Khali being eye to eye.

Dr. Thomas Keister and Rage were guests on the show for most of the 90 minutes as the show ran over. Always a thank you to them for being a part of the show.

TNA LOCKDOWN was covered and the updated card was given as well as some thoughts on certain matches. Full coverage of TNA LOCKDOWN will be on the Monday show at 7pm on April 14th.

The Georgia wrestling bill was thankful shot down in the Georgia House of Representatives and for the time being wrestling is safe in the state of Georgia.....but for how long?

Another worthless parent blames WWE for her 4 year old choking out and killing her 2 year old. This is one part of the show you need to hear.

On March 31st, 2008 Ric Flair gave his farewell address in a WWE ring. After he was done HHH came out to inform Ric there were many others beside the fans in the arena and the fans at home that wanted to thank him.

HHH then called out the Four Horsemen consisting of Tully Blanchard, Arm Anderson, JJ Dillion and Barry Windham. from Ric’s old NWA/WCW days. After them came Harley Race, Dean Malenko, Ricky Steamboat, Batista, Chris Jericho, Greg Valentine, John Cena, Ric’s Family and lastly Shawn Michael’s. The man who ended Ric’s career just 24 hours earlier at Wrestlemania 24 in Orlando.

Then the entire company, not just the talent, came out to say thanks to Ric Flair for everything he has done in the business and for everything he has contributed to the wrestling business.

I was crying through the entire segment and I’m not ashamed to say it. Anybody, regardless of weather you liked Ric Flair’s character or not, that claims to be a true wrestling fan should of been crying as well. If you didn’t get the whole thing then maybe you should just stick to watching dumbed down TV like American Idol.

This is Pro Wrestling at it’s best. This was one of the greatest moments in television history. No other sport can deliver what happened in that ring that night. Ric Flair got everything he deserved and rightfully so.

Moments like this are why I’M PROUD to be a wrestling fan and PROUD to have been involved in the wrestling business for 20 years. I grew up watching Ric Flair and he is just one of my many hero’s from inside the squared circle. He will will be missed as an in ring competitor but he will always be the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
