Rush is a pioneer in talk radio and if not for his accomplishments with talk radio it is possible that AM radio would have folded. His being on the air and expressing his opinions that are also the opinions held by his listeners. It is like giving the common man a voice. His shows affect people politically where as, in contrast, a sports personality makes a large income ( which they may deserve by their excellence to their craft) but only affect us if we follow sports.
