Join your host, Felice Gerwitz and her guest, Mary Jo Tate. MaryJo is an editor and has created a successful business as a stay-at-home mom. Mary Jo Tate has been a book coach and international editor since 1986. Her education includes a B.A. in English and philosophy from the University of Mississippi and an M.A. in English from the University of South Carolina, as well as many seminars on writing, publishing, and marketing.

Her first professional experience was editing doctoral dissertations for international seminary students. In graduate school, she was blessed to be mentored by a great editor and leading Fitzgerald scholar, Matthew J. Bruccoli, with whom she worked on the Cambridge University Press edition of The Great Gatsby.

Mary Jois the author of How Do You Do It All? Balancing Family Life and Home Business in the Real World (home study course, 2007), Getting Started as a Freelance Editor (home study course, 2006), and Critical Companion to F. Scott Fitzgerald (Facts on File, 2007; revised and expanded edition of F. Scott Fitzgerald A to Z, 1998), as well as articles on F. Scott Fitzgerald, Eudora Welty, William Faulkner, bibliophilia, writing, literature, homeschooling, and single parenting.

Her editing and coaching clients include Cambridge University Press; homeschool publishers such as Homeschooling Today, Trivium Pursuit, Christian Logic, How Great Thou Art, and Apologia Educational Ministries; and entrepreneurs such as a voice coach, a golf pro, several chiropractors, and a financial planner. Her specialty is helping entrepreneurs, speakers, and other experts author a book...whether or not they can write.
