Call in to speak with the host
Known most for his epic superhero web series "Lucky Streak & the Crime Fighters," Kurt Donath has also been seen time and again winning one award after another at the 48 Hour Film Festival. In addition, he has made other short and feature films. Donath will talk about the making of a superhero film, surviving the pressure of the 48, marketing yourself in a convention setting and more.
Donath began in the film industry as a child actor as well. At the age of 10, he had his stage debut at the Lee Strassberg Actors Studio in Hollywood, CA. About the same time, he started writing screenplays. At age 19 he met his mentor, George Clayton Johnson, a revered science fiction writer. Johnson penned screenplays for the original "Twilight Zone" and classic films such as "Logan's Run." Kurt studied with him for two years before moving to South Florida with his family.
In South Florida, he enrolled at the International Fine Arts College (now re-named Miami University of Art and Design) and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film in 2002. He started his own film production company, Aberdeen Soldier in 2003 ... and the rest is history.
