"As High as the Sky" is the first film that Nikki Braendlin has directed. Nikki has also  been a successful screenwriter, producer and actress. Her screenplays have placed in several competitions and some of the productions she has produced have been critically-acclaimed, including the play Machu Picchu, Texas (Critic’s Choice; LA TIMES, Pick of the Week; LA Weekly) by award-winning playwright Timothy McNeil that she is currently adapting for the screen.
Before becoming a screenwriter, she ran Hear Me Roar Productions, an all-women's theater company that produced theatrical benefits for women's and children's organizations. Through HMR and her work as a counselor, she also ran writing and acting workshops for at-risk teenaged girls and produced shows of their original works.
Manager of Aunt Kiki Productions, based in Los Angeles,  she is also a member of Film Independent, an executive member of Women in Film and a mentor with Young Storytellers Foundation.
