To start we must go all the way to the beginning. Eric began playing out acoustic at the age of 13. He grew up with Tom in his life so it was only natural when the idea came about to make the band officially, Mr. Espo was the first choice on the drums! Eric and Joe began playing together shortly into their freshman year in high school. The two had been playing acoustic shows and writing original work when Joe spoke the opinion of getting a full band. Eric was quick to agree, and shortly after Pat had brought in his talents on the bass in January of 2011.
After a few switch arounds with musicians Tom
was an obvious choice to bring in on the drums. After a few shows, and short months later in July of 2011, Jillian had been added to the band to form the duet the Eric Van Houten Band is now very known for. With beautiful harmonies there two voices and looks have become the focal point of this band.
In the few short months they were together they played on the same stage as three Nashville
recording artists and two in one week! Also, like any band trying to get out there, they've rocked the local bars and continue to increase there following!
