According to the scripture in 2 Cor. 4:18“while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” The things which are seen are temporal, and are not worth basing our lives upon, the things which are not seen are the things which we must give heed to confirm, to give substance, to affirm. When this truth (reality) is firmly established within, it can be stated that we are people fully persuaded and order our lives by those “things not seen”. There is a term that the Apostle Paul in the 2 Cor. 4: 13 called the spirit of faith, “But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE,” we also believe, therefore we also speak…” Have you ever seen this term before? In order to gain the full substance or reality of this term we will need to look at the full context of chapter 4. Note that in verse 6 the One who spoke “out of darkness light shall shine” is the One who shined in our hearts to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ, signifying just as there was a creation then (at the creation and recreation in Genesis 1) by this shining, so there is a new creation (that is, an old person is brought into the New Life).
