In Genesis 3:14 the scripture reads: The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life; (NASB) God set legal boundaries, restrictions and a diet for Satan. Whenever we question or doubt God’s authority we become imprisoned by a carnal nature, “For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.” Rom.7:14. This carnal nature is the delicacy of the dust eating serpent, Satan. The word carnal is synonymous with the word fleshly. Therefore, as we turn away from the spirit to live from the flesh; meaning if we live as mere men, that is, those who are driven by the appetites of the flesh, and seek to satisfy every natural craving, we enter the legal restricted arena of the serpent, Satan, and become food for him. 1 Cor. 3:3 “for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?” These believers at Corinth were seen as carnal in behavior, the presence of jealousy and strife are evidence of this, as a result they became food for the serpent. Do not love the world nor the things in the world if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. 1John 2:15-18
