Ben Brink author of The Dead Always Vote Democrat and founder/chairman of Get Out the Vet, a campaign project to get out the overseas military vote and recruit veterans to provide poll watchers and poll workers this election, and monitor elections for a fair and fraud-free election. Ben has spent over 30 years in high technology in Silicon Valley and elsewhere. A retired Captain in the Navy Reserve, he was recalled to active duty in 2007; deployed to Afghanistan and awarded a bronze star. While there, he experienced firsthand the challenge of voting from a Combat zone. In his writing Brink has also called upon his earlier experience as a Republican nominee for US Congress in the mid-1990s. Brink holds degrees from Stanford, Harvard, and the US Army War College.
In light of the complete DoD disaster in setting up election assistance offices this year, and the subsequent drop in military ballot requests, Get Out The Vet is working on major projects and has launched an e-mail campaign to inform our troops how to register, request ballots, and vote online. Overseas military can use the FWAB all the way up to Election Day if they have not received their state/county ballot on time but troops aren’t getting the word!
Get Out the Vet has partnered with former/retired Special Operations Force members to observe, report, and post videos of voter intimidation. We now have sufficient resources to observe all polling places with a history of voter intimidation.
