The Black Women’s Health Imperative (Imperative) is the place where Black women’s health matters! For more than 25, the Imperative has been a leader in promoting optimum health for Black women across the life span – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Its vision is to develop information, resources and programs that help Black women become informed stewards of their own health and well-bring. Through advocacy, education and leadership development, the Imperative has touched the lives of more than 4.5 million of nation’s 19.5 million Black and girls. Now, this dynamic organization is touching the lives of millions more with Imperative Radio! Imperative Radio is the #1 source of health information for Black women. It’s where Black women can get the facts, talk to experts and receive the answers they need. On the first Wednesday of each month, tune in to First Wednesday: Conversation with Byllye and Ngina. With power, passion and high spirit, Imperative Founder Byllye Y. Avery, along with Ngina Lythcott, host an interactive and informative radio show that will explore love, relationships, sexuality and the spirit. On the third Wednesday of each month, tune in to The Black Women’s Health Report with Eleanor Hinton Hoytt. Hinton Hoytt, president and CEO of the Imperative, is a passionate health advocate with more than 25 years of experience examining health and social justice issues that affect the health outcomes of Black women and girls. With a vast understanding of the health needs of Black women, Hinton Hoytt hosts a radio show dedicated to exploring the latest health issues, news and trends important to Black women. Imperative Radio is being described as a “gift to Black women” who desire empowerment and knowledge!
