What's Happening with Social Security?
Ask Your Questions. Get the Answers.

Special Guest: Dr. Maya Rockeymoore
Noted American policy scholar, income expert, speaker, author and
president and CEO of Global Policy Solutions

This summer, Congress passed legislation to establish a committee tasked with reducing the nation's deficit. Unfortunately, some in Washington want the committee to cut your Social Security benefits.

If Congress cuts Social Security, many Blacks across the country will be hit the hardest with Black women being affected the most. As the most common source of income for Black women aged 62 and over, Social Security has been a lifeline – keeping many out of poverty.

Now is the time to learn about the cuts that many in Washington do not want you to question or understand!

Washington insider Dr. Maya Rockeymoore understands and she will join Host Eleanor Hinton Hoytt on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 3 p.m. EST on BlogTalkRadio, to help you understand.

Call Dr. Rockeymoore with your questions at 646-381-4662 beginning at 3 p.m. EST on Wednesday, September 21, or email your questions prior to the show to asktheexpert@BlackWomensHealth.ORG.

In addition to calling Dr. Rockeymoore with your questions, take action to protect Social Security by:

  1. Downloading and sharing our fact sheet on Black Women and Social Security.
  2. Signing the petition to protect Social Security.
  3. Taking our survey.
