Richard Alaniz is a Mexican/Comanche from the Pecos River People, a historical mixture of Mexican, Comanche, and Spaniard cultures in the Pecos River region in Southern New Mexico.  He is an author, public speaker, a practicing spiritual counselor, and a master of Balik Meditation & Balik Yoga. Mr. Alaniz received his B.A. degree in Psychology from California State University Long Beach and trained with the Mescalero Apaches & various other cultures in indigenous shamanism. Richard has developed a novel approach to applied psychology that he calls Psychospiritual Psychology which is a blend of modern psychological theories and indigenous shamanic healing principles.
