Rodney Charles launched a career as an author in 1991, didn’t have a dime, passed the previous 14 years as a monk in upstate New York, and was naive about the ways of the world. Having spent so many years as a monk, Rodney had a passion for the lives of saints and read hundreds of biographies (possibly thousands) and compiled brief accounts of their lives into a story-a-day book called EVERY DAY A MIRACLE HAPPENS. Rodney’s masterpiece not only did it receive dozens of “form-generated-rejection letters,” but even family and friends felt it necessary to elucidate his delusions. So he devised a plan that he would publish EVERY DAY A MIRACLE HAPPENS. But there was, however, one small problem: no money. In fact, no credit history, never owned a credit card, taken out a loan, owned a mortgage and until a year or so before, never had a bank account (one of the benefits of monkhood). Yet… his book EVERY DAY A MIRACLE HAPPENS was ultimately on regional and national bestsellers lists.
