Steve Light then went on to design buttons that were acquired by the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum            Then came a great opportunity for Steve to teach art to small children. Through his experiences as a teacher he found his true calling as a children’s illustrator and storyteller. He has been teaching in the classroom for the last 10 years with children 3-6 years old. He has used this experience to help him publish 6 children’s books by Abrams and Candlewick Press. Steve’s books include: I am Happy a touch and feel book, Puss in Boots, The Shoemaker Extraordinaire, Uncle Sam a press out and play book, and 2 Hello Kitty books that he engineered. Here, one honest cop takes on corrupt cops, gangsters, rogue FBI agents and maybe even vampires. Or at least they seem to be vampires. Oh yes, and of course there's the obligatory visit to a strip club.' 'Detective Perez is a well done, fully three dimensional believable character. Joining him is a truly original and fun vampire killer named- of all things- "Bubba". I liked Bubba and I hope we see more of him.' 'The art- also by Paul Pate- is a simple monochrome drawing. But the starkness and lack of color actually adds here, rather than detracts.' She is currently at work on a series of paintings and blog posts depicting the need for clarity and transparency in medical records. After the death of her husband, Fred Holliday II, on June 17th 2009, she began a large Mural Titled “73 cents.”    This piece can be viewed at 5001 Connecticut Ave. Washington, DC 20008. This piece depicts Holliday family’s nightmare journey through the medical system during Fred’s cancer care.
