I Got My Reasons (The Most Dangerous Show On The Internet)

""If your parents are bigots who'd wish you'd disrespect my office, remember our democracy gives even the silliest underachievers among us a voice!" Al Franken called my satirical style "sophisticated" and "charming". But we aren't the most dangerous crew on BTR for nothing, either. Our show brings you political commentary, music and discussion of art and culture you won't hear anywhere else ... smart and fun commentary from co-hosts Leyla, Donald and Stephanie; show regulars like Ellen and Robzilla; and great guests that we don't bore with "straight" interviews. As far as I know we are the ONLY show anywhere who did a hip-hop remix of David Cay Johnston (and played it to him!), or were told by punk icon and best-selling author Legs McNeil that we "f-ing suck." Someone has to crank call the crank callers, might as well be us.

    Date / Time:

Jerry McLimbaugh to Obama: "Let Me Help You!"

Does Rush have a sweet spot for the new President? He's backpeddling like crazy after his notorious (and unequivocal, IMHO) statement that he "hopes Obama will fail" and doesn't mind if the mainstream media only quotes that. Well, now, not so much:

"But I support our president. I'm like anybody else, I support the president. I just don't support the policies."

Interesting... apparently Rush is beginning a new-age campaign to help Obama; if I understand his previous comments and this simpering semi-apology the scenerio would go as follows:

A brash and arrogant new President is confounded by the failures of nearly all of his policy proposals and has a spiritual "moment of clarity" that his failures are an opportunity to learn how to be the best President ever! Breakdown... or breakthrough?

After this apprent epiphany a new, better Obama will emerge... ready to be a Republican!!

C'mon Obama, this advice is coming from a man who KNOWS of what he speaks: a very public battle with a drug addiction only raised Rush to new heights of humility and popularity, but ONLY because he had the courage to look into the abyss of his own arrogance and failings. Rush wants you to WIN! And like the grizzled coach in "Rocky", the viscous glass of warm uncooked eggs he's been forcing you to swallow is his way to say "I love you kid, and this tastes like crap because it's GOOD FOR YOU!"

Yes, "Barack the Magic Negro" and my incessant insults, inuendo, and hopes that you "fail" are my way of purging you of the things that will keep you from being the best darned President we ever had. No need to thank me, watching you transform into a new-age Republican Obama is more than enough reward.
